 PRACTICAL MINISTRY INFORMATION

The University believes that winning souls and building the local church should be the ultimate goal of every graduate

Practical Ministry Credits are required for any degree earned from Bethel Christian University.  This is a series of general weekly practical assignments, which gives the student the opportunity to put into practice the things learned within the week.  Reports must be submitted to the office of the Dean every six months.

Practical Ministry credits may be obtained through documentation of Christian service hours (that includes present and past activities) in your Church, Religious organization, non-church ministries, Evangelistic Ministry, Christian Counseling ministry, Teaching and Preaching assignments, etc. These service hours must be verified by the Senior Pastor of your Church or President of Your Ministry or the Senior Counselor on a service evaluation report.

Practical Ministry is “On-The-Job Training” for the ministry.  There are many varied ministries available for all students.  Please meet with your Senior Pastor as soon as possible for assignments to specific areas of ministry. Practical Ministry will help teach you self-discipline.

A Service example covers areas such as Practical Leadership, Teaching Ministry, Christian Leadership, Administration Ministry, Preaching Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Counseling Ministry, Evangelism, World Mission Outreaches, Sunday school Ministry, Youth Ministry, Choir Ministry, Music Ministry, Hospital/Jail Ministry, and Nursing Home visitation, etc.

Your Senior Pastor will be setting and meeting with you on regular appointments for Practical Ministry discussions and for getting acquainted time.

This must be supervised by your immediate Pastor or President. Your Practical Ministry service will be evaluated, the credit hours and the grades will be assessed to determine the total credit hours you will have eg. 1 hour of service per week for 18 weeks = 1 credit hour, 2 hours of service per week for 18 weeks = 2 credit hours.
