MTH 403 – Exegesis of the Hebrew Scriptures

Course Descriptions
The primary task of the course is to determine how select texts of scripture should be studied in order to understand the author’s original intent. The principles required for responsible interpretation of the Old Testament.
Lesson Topics:
You are expected to cover the following topics.
- Interpreting Old Testament Literature,
- Narrative and History,
- Law,
- Prophetic Announcements, and
- Lament, Praise, and Wisdom
At the end of this course, you should review again all the topics to prepare you for multiple-choice and True or False Examination questions.
Your main textbook for this course is the Bible and Course Requirements. You should read it several times during the course.
This course is designed to be used in conjunction with a recommended textbook.
The recommended Text Book: Interpreting the Old Testament: A Guide for Exegesis by Broyles C. Craig.
At the end of this course, you should be able to understand the Principles and Practices of Pastoral Ministry.
Read it thoughtfully, and answer all the questions as you go along.
